![]() ![]() It's a hard game to lay down $49.99 for, but if you're dying for a Western, this fits the bill. Found MagicBox sales data showing best selling PS1,PS2,DC,N64,XBX,GC,GBC, PSP. Like I said before, the Dead Eye techniques and the special attacks for each character infuses a wide style of gameplay not found in any other Western. Max Payne, Red Dead Revolver and more added to the old Xbox marketplace Max. While the engine isn't all that robust, it gives you multiple characters, animals to ride, loads of cool old-style guns, and a healthy Multiplayer mode. Red Dead Revolver does, however, have a lot of hooks. Graphically, Red Dead fares much better on Xbox than PS2, especially in the more crowded levels and in multiplayer. Dead Eye works well, and the range of characters gives the game wider and more emotional appeal. Save points following a Duel are also ill-placed. ![]() The Dueling is good, but it's painfully built on trial and error techniques, and it's hard to consistently master. It's got some great ideas that seem to have had problems being fleshed out to their maximum potential. I have desperately wanted to play a good Western shooter for years now, and Red Dead Revolver almost fits the bill. Red Dead Revolver is one of those games I like more in theory than I do in reality. I felt like I was in a cowboy movie, for real. I didn't expect some of the stuff I saw in the game, props to developers for that train chase sequence, particularly. Some amazing action sequences surprised me. It has good cover, shooting mechanics and most of the animations are very well refined for its time. I didn't know this, rightfully so, it caught me unguarded. The dead-eye mechanic that is present in Red Dead Redemption series was presented first in this game. Thanks to the PCSX2's resolution scaler feature, I was able to play the game at a much higher resolution and with a sharper image. Compared to Call of Duty, GTA, Doom 3, and Half-Life 2 from that age, game's graphics looks a little bit outdated. For a 2004 game, I would've expected better graphics out of this game, especially from a game made by Rockstar and Capcom. It has a lineer and kinda boring story with a good start but bad follow up. Despite its age, I enjoyed Red Dead Revolver a lot. Ride on horseback through the scenic, yet dangerous Western terrain of canyons, mountains, plains, forests, gold mines and towns.11h PlayedI'd like to thank the developers of PCSX2, the PS2 emulator, for enabling this game to run on PC platform. ![]() * Expansive interactive world: Play an extensive variety of exciting missions as you journey west across the new frontier.
